8 tips to keep burglars away
Burglars usually make sure that no one is on the premises before entering. You can stay one step ahead of the game by following some of these tips!
1. Make sure you have a good source of lighting coming from your home. Have a timer that turns your lights or solar outdoor lights on and off at specific times.
2. Do not announce any travel plans on social media and only post your vacation photos upon your return.
3. Install an intercom with a camera connected to your mobile. No matter where you are, you will be able to see and chat with all your visitors remotely.
4. Ask a friend or neighbour to pick up your mail.
5. Place stickers from your security provider in plain sight.
6. Make sure every window and door are properly closed. Install an alarm system connected to a monitored surveillance central and is equipped with glass break detectors.
7. Take care of your lawn, plants, and garden before you leave. For long trips, ask a neighbour to mow the lawn while you are gone.
8. Photograph or identify your valuables before your departure in order to avoid problems in the event of compensation.
